Walking Tour 2

Post Court

Post Court

Walk down Slovenská Street and cross the bridge over the Teplá River. After you pass the volleyball courts, turn right and walk up a moderate slope to Beethoven's Arbour. From there, walk down to the tennis courts and continue through the woods behind the Motel towards the Alice Hotel at the edge of the municipality of Březová (Karlovy Vary – Březová line bus stop).

Belonging among the easier routes, Walking Tour 2 is recommended to all who should avoid excessive physical strain due to medical reasons or who have joint or respiratory problems.

Post Court

Poštovní dvůr (Post Court) was built by local postmaster Josef Korb in 1791 to serve as a horse exchange station for mail coaches. The station later became an important social centre. On 20 July 1894, it was the venue of the European premiere of Dvořák's New World Symphony. The building houses Labitzky's Hall from 1791, the Prussian Hall from 1818, a popular restaurant, a wine room with a vinotheque, as well as a dance and garden pavilion.
