Mariánské Lázně

Vítejte v Mariánských lázních

  • 62 km from Karlovy Vary

Mariánské Lázně, founded during the Classical period in the early 19th century, is among the largest spa towns in Europe. The site was transformed from an inhospitable marshy valley into a charming town filled with parks, featuring Classical and Empire-style houses, gloriettes, pavilions, and colonnades.

The heart of the spa town is a central park with a colonnade and Classical and Art Nouveau buildings. The park stretches towards the surrounding hills and along the valley. The spa architecture is dominated by houses and villas dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The preserved spa buildings and hotels, colonnades, and small structures built above the springs create the town’s distinctive character. Its international significance is reflected in religious buildings of various denominations, reinforcing the unique atmosphere that has made Mariánské Lázně one of the most cosmopolitan spa towns in Europe.
