From 29 November to 1 January, the Christmas markets at the Mill Colonnade will turn the spa centre of Karlovy Vary into a sparkling Christmas town with a rich programme. The promenade from Elizabeth’s Spa to the Imperial Spa will be lined with decorations, photo spots and concerts at the Mill Colonnade (Jakub Děkan, Milan Peroutka, Igor Orozovič, Berenika Kohoutová, Radka Fišarová and more).

The second advent weekend at the Mill Colonnade will be all about St Nicholas, music and candlelight. On Friday 5 December, St Nicholas will arrive with a devil and an angel, joined by "Taneční studio Fontána" (Fontána Dance Studio) and an evening concert by Kujme Pikle Band & Levoruký Eda. On Saturday 6 December, Bára Zemanová & BAND and POPs will perform, and on Sunday 7 December you can enjoy A Tre Voci and the project “Andělé v nás” (Angels within us). The evening will culminate with the lighting of the second Advent candle, a special town-hall mulled wine and a concert by Milan Peroutka and his band Perutě at 18:10 at the Mill Colonnade stage.

CITY CHRISTMAS TREE | by Hotel Thermal
The city Christmas tree by Hotel Thermal is once again the main highlight of Christmas in Karlovy Vary and perfectly underscores the festive atmosphere. Hundreds of metres of light chains with more than ten thousand LED lights will be used to decorate it. The ceremonial lighting took place on Sunday, 30 November, at 18:00.

CHRISTMAS SPA MISSION | 29. 11. – 31. 12. 2025, city centre
You can combine a walk through the Christmas city with discovering spa heritage and spice it up with a quiz. At iconic spots along the route you will find out which mysterious “essences” give Vary its unique strength – from hot springs and colonnades to the magical spa landscape. Thanks to the quiz you will understand why Karlovy Vary is part of the UNESCO World Heritage, and a Christmas gift awaits you at the end of the mission! The route starts at Hotel Thermal and ends at the City Infocentre in the Imperial Spa.

CHILDREN’S CREATIVE WORKSHOPS | Advent weekends, 14:00–17:30, Municipal Library, I. P. Pavlova 7
The City Infocentre, in cooperation with the Karlovy Vary House of Children and Youth (Dům dětí a mládeže Karlovy Vary), will open creative workshops for children in the Municipal Library on I. P. Pavlova Street. A space for imagination and creativity will be available at weekends, with a different theme every week. Under the guidance of instructors, children of all ages can try out various art techniques and create their own Christmas decorations, ornaments and greeting cards.

CHRISTMAS FLEET OF DPKV
The Karlovy Vary Transport Company (Dopravní podnik Karlovy Vary) will dispatch several Christmas specials. On Saturday 29 November, the popular road train will take to the streets. The festively decorated set with heated carriages will run in the afternoon and early evening on the route Tržnice – Christmas Markets – Divadelní náměstí – Tržnice. A Christmas-decorated bus with rich exterior and interior decorations will run on regular public transport lines. The Diana funicular will also don a Christmas outfit and lights. Once again, the popular St Nicholas line with a heaven-and-hell crew will not be missing: St Nicholas, the devil and angels will travel across the city on a St Nicholas ride with baskets full of treats for young passengers. This special service will run on 5 December at 15:00; its route will be specified on dpkv.cz and on the transport company’s social media.

SALE OF CHRISTMAS TREES AND CARP | from 8. 12., Svatý Linhart and Drahovice Garden Centre
The Karlovy Vary Spa Forests and Parks will once again offer Christmas trees and carp this year. Spruce and fir trees will be available at the Svatý Linhart visitor centre and at the Drahovice garden centre. Foresters will wrap each tree, trim the trunk and, as a bonus, add a sprig of mistletoe free of charge. Carp for the Christmas table will be on sale at Linhart from 20 to 23 December.

Food and drink will dominate the range of stalls on the colonnade – exactly what visitors most often come to the Karlovy Vary Christmas markets for. There will be mulled wine, punch, coffee, hot chocolate, matcha tea and matcha-based drinks, chimney cakes, lángos, fruit in chocolate, smoked fish, cheeses, roast meats and sausages. Vendors will also offer small Christmas gifts and decorations, porcelain, candles and mistletoe.
