Skalník Park
The oldest municipal park known as Skalníkovy sady (Skalník Park) is situated in the slope above the Mill Colonnade. It was created by Viennese artistic gardener Václav Skalník between 1830 and 1831. Skalník Park offers an unrivalled and unobstructed view of the spa centre of the town situated on the banks of the Teplá River. You may also admire the Column of the Dukes of Cambridge or the Baroque statue of Saint Bernard.More
Dvořák Park
The municipal park was named Dvořákovy sady (Dvořák Park) in honour of world-renowned Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. It was created between 1877 and 1878 by artistic gardener Jan Hahmann. The present-day appearance of the park dates back to 1974 and it is the work of architect Adolf Petr. In addition to numerous sandy paths, ponds and many tree species, you may also find the Park Colonnade and Antonín Dvořák's monument on the park grounds, as well as two monument trees over 200 years old: i.e. the Park Plane Tree and Dvořák's Plane Tree.More
Charles IV Park
The municipal park known as Sady Karla VI. (Charles IV Park) is situated by the forefront of the Pseudo-Renaissance spa building of Císařské lázně (Imperial Spa) designed by Viennese architects Fellner and Helmer. In the park, you may find a monument of the founder of the Karlovy Vary, Emperor Charles IV, by sculptor Otakar Švec. Smetana Park
The Smetanovy sady (Smetana Park) municipal park, named after famous Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, was created between 1905 and 1906 as part of the construction of the modern Elisabeth Baths. The historicist French-style park has kept its original form including its four-rowed alley of shaped lime trees. At the park entrance, you may find a distinctive flowerbed with the current date updated daily in its centre.More
Theatre Square Park
The formally landscaped park in Divadelní náměstí (Theatre Square), situated between the Hot Spring Colonnade and the Municipal Theatre, was founded in 1912 in an open area originally intended for the building of a modern spa house. A monument to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin used to stand here in the second half of the 20th century. The park was the last independently executed park project in Karlovy Vary.More
Mozart Park
The municipal park known as Mozartův park (Mozart Park) was opened in 1913 on the site of the former cemetery behind the Church of Saint Andrew northeast above the centre of Karlovy Vary. Empire and Biedermeier tombstones of prominent personages from the 18th and 19th centuries may still be found on the park grounds. The park is open to the public all year round.More
Jean de Carro Park
The municipal park known as Sady Jeana de Carro (Jean de Carro Park) was founded in the late 1850s. It is located in the vicinity of the Empire-style Lützow's Villa in a wonderful scenic location above the Karlovy Vary spa centre. A column with the statue of Charles IV may be found in the park, along with a stone sculpture of a sitting cat. The grassy park, freely accessible all year long, offers its visitors a spectacular view of the town in the valley below.More
Japanese Garden
The Japanese-style Zen meditation garden bearing the name of Hana Bälz was created in 1998 by Japanese gardeners according to the design of renowned Japanese landscape architect Kenji Nomura in the park near Parkhotel Richmond on the left bank of the Teplá River in the southern outskirts of Karlovy Vary. Hana Bälz, whose name the garden bears, was the wife of German physician Erwin von Bälz. She is merited for helping to bring Japanese and European culture closer together.More
