How to get there

Route No. 1: You can reach the Kristýna Gazebo by following forest paths and stone steps past the Chamois statue directly from the centre of Karlovy Vary, starting at the Hot Spring (follow the yellow hiking trail towards Jelení skok).  

Route No. 2: An easier option is to take the Diana funicular from the Grandhotel Pupp to the Jelení skok intermediate station and then follow the pleasant path past the Jelení skok restaurant and Petrova výšina (Peter's Height) down to the gazebo. 

About the gazebo

The Kristýna Gazebo is one of the youngest of the iconic viewpoints in the spa forests of Karlovy Vary. Although it was not built until 2004, its wooden architecture blends perfectly with the romantic character of the surrounding landscape and offers beautiful views of the spa heart of the city.

What can you expect at the gazebo?

• An unusual interior with the “Mysterious Stone”: The elegant octagonal wooden gazebo hides a unique feature inside. The tip of the natural rock protrudes through the centre of its floor. This distinctive natural feature is known as the Mysterious Stone and provides visitors with an unusual place to sit and relax.
   
• Enchanting views of the spa centre: The gazebo, perched on a rocky promontory, offers a breathtaking panorama. From here, you can enjoy views of the Hot Spring Colonnade, the Baroque Church of St Mary Magdalene and the famous Chamois statue at Jelení skok.
   
• An interesting technical feature: The structure is anchored directly into the rock using special reinforced-concrete pins, which also strengthen the entire rock massif.
