The athletics track features eight lanes, while the sprint straight has nine lanes. Long jump areas have been built on both sides of the straights. Their landing pits are equipped with rubber safety edging that minimizes the risk of injury when landing near the edge. 

A new area for technical disciplines, such as pole vault, javelin throw and shot put, has been created near the main entrance to the stadium. 

The southern part of the facility includes areas for high jump, discus throw and hammer throw. An additional entrance from the swimming pool car park is also planned.

Reconstruction completed in 2024

On 25 June 2024, the complete reconstruction of the Karlovy Vary Athletics Stadium was officially completed.

A total of 133 tonnes of specially selected and certified materials have now been installed on the surface. The area of the track oval exceeds 4,500 m². 

New areas for technical disciplines have been built on approximately 3,000 square metres. Long jump sectors are located on both sides of the straights, while the northern part of the facility (near the main stadium entrance) features a new area for disciplines such as pole vault, javelin throw and shot put. 

The southern part of the facility contains areas for high jump, discus throw and hammer throw. New covered benches have also been installed throughout the stadium.
