Spa season opening
An important event is the annual Opening of the spa season. 657. - so many season will be in Karlovy Vary initiated the first weekend from 1st to 3rd May 2015. You can look forward to a rich cultural program. The city's founder Charles IV. officially arrives to launch the season, with his companions in the so-called parade of Charles IV. This is a traditional part of the Spa season opening in Karlovy Vary. Likewise, as well as in previous years there will be blessing of springs to continue to regress visitors to Karlovy Vary health.
Part of the opening of spa season is a gastronomic festival „Food Festival“. Festival, where every last taste bud of yours will be satisfied because the best restaurants in Karlovy Vary will be there.
Mattoni 1/2Marathon Karlovy Vary 2015
Do you like running? Do you rather watch others to run? Even in Karlovy Vary is the opportunity to try 1/2 Marathon from RunCzech family. Run through the beautiful spa zone with spectators is fantastic. It can only happen on the 1/2 marathon in Karlovy Vary. Start is the 23rd May 2015.
Karlovy Vary Carnival
8th year of Mattoni Karlovy Vary carnival is going to be form 5th to 7th of June 2015. Do you have a mask or interesting costume? Prepare for sure and go in parade to the rhythm and dance music. If you'd rather just watch, everything is fine. There will be certainly many things to watchJ.
Karlovy Vary International Film Festival
Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is the most important event in the city. In 2015, exactly from 3rd to 11th of July 2015, it will be the 50th anniversary.
If you want to see the biggest and most famous spa town in the Czech Republic in a completely different light than the rest of the year, so choose exactly Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. There you will be rich accompanying program, concerts, parties and lots of performances.
Day of town in the time of festival this year will be particularly interesting. In the summer cinema after 43 years will perform Czech musical band Olmypic and Hungarian band Omega, who have played there together for a memorable concert at the Rolava in June 1972. Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra will be their accompaniment.
Colonnade concerts
The traditional variegation of the August summer days are concerts - Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra on colonnades for everyone. Entry is free. Each concert is in the colonnade and evoke the pleasant spa atmosphere.
Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra has already 180th season. It is the oldest orchestra in Bohemia and one of the oldest ones in the world.
City Triathlon 2015
Swimming + Bike + Running = Triathlon
It all started exactly twenty years ago in 1994, when Karlovy Vary hosted the first race of the Czech Cup. Year after year the prestige grew. In August 2015, you can go cheer on to Rolava or to spa centre. The race will be all over this place.
Karlovy Vary Folklore Festival
Karlovy Vary folklore festival aims to protect and revive customs, dances and folk music of Karlovy Vary Region, and thanks to that strengthen the relationship of people and place in which they live, which was marked by complex historical development. Regularly takes place in September since 1996. The expected date of the festival is from 1st to 6th of September 2015.
Dvorak autumn
Antonín Dvořák, probably the most famous Czech composer. His name holds one of the oldest music festivals in Europe, which annually enchant already so beautiful autumn in Karlovy Vary.
JazzFest
Festival, held continuously since 1984, will take place in Karlovy Vary from 13th to 19th October. This year is the fifteenth, when Jazzfest organized by the Association of Jazz circle headed by its director and also an active participant in the event - saxophonist Milan Krajíc.
International Tourism Film Festival TOURFILM
The oldest Tourism Film Festival in the world. Three days in October are full of movies about traveling in Karlovy Vary. In 2015 it will be the 48th year.
The festival's mission is to present and appreciate movies and multimedia to their content and artistic level, which contribute to the development of domestic and foreign tourism and also help to wide international application of these images.
International Singing Competition of Antonin Dvorak
Competition, initially designed for students from art schools, has become over the years a recognized international competitions. Annually 80-110 singers from all over the world participate in the fields of OPERA, JUNIOR and song discipline.
This competition will also have 50th anniversary just like the famous International Film Festival.
LORD OF THE DANCE 2015 – Dangerous Games
Spectacular new study of traditional masterpiece. Michael Flatley with his World tour has beaten all previous sales records, and continues in Belgium, Israel, Scandinavia, Ireland and South Africa. In November 3, Lord of the Dance will come with its brand new show to Karlovy Vary.
Dangerous Games introduce to the audience the brand-new dance numbers, perfect visual and audio technology, spectacular light park, beautiful costumes and new music from composer Gerard Fahy.
Chinese National Circus 2015 - Chinatown
CHINESE NATIONAL CIRCUS will be visiting the Czech Republic for the fourth time. In December 2015, you can look forward to a 7 performances in 6 cities of the country. Viewers will be able to see historically the most successful global acrobatic show with their own eyes in 15th December 2015 in KV Arena.
