In this special edition of the Poetry & Jazz series, you will hear poems by Josef Kainar, featured on the album World Evergreens with Lyrics by Josef Kainar, and verses by Václav Hrabě, the most prominent representative of the Czech Beat Generation. The texts and poems will be accompanied by Milan Krajíc and František Nedvěd, long-time musical partners for whom the duo format opens up new space and allows for a fresh repertoire beyond what they usually perform.

The American-born, Berlin-based Ingrid Arthur is not just an extraordinary singer – she is a goddess of soul, whose powerful gospel voice evokes the spirit of Aretha Franklin, Mavis Staples, and Mahalia Jackson.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with dozens of international stars. Her achievements include concerts with The Golden Gospel Singers, Gayle Tufts, and The James Last Orchestra; six years performing with The Weather Girls; and backing vocals for Grammy Award winner Cissy Houston (mother of Whitney Houston) and Bette Midler.

She has appeared on stages in New York, Paris, London, and Berlin, both in concerts and musical theatre productions. Since 2011, she has also been a successful solo artist.
At this concert, Ingrid Arthur will be accompanied by an international trio whose members boast extensive experience performing with top musicians and ensembles from across Europe and the USA.
