Film program of the festival

The Karlovy Vary IFF presents approximately 200 films from around the world every year.

In addition to permanent program sections presenting the works of well-known world creators as well as new aspiring authors, festival visitors can look forward to interesting retrospectives and specialized sections.

With the exception of films in retrospectives and a selection section of Czech films, all films will be presented in the Czech Republic for the very first time; many of them in world, international or European premieres.

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is a unique film festival in the spa town. Films from all over the world compete in several categories and are evaluated by both expert and audience judges. The best one is awarded the main prize of the festival - the Crystal Globe at the closing ceremony of the festival.
