Spa visitors used to pass houses the Golden Gable, the Red House, Two Trout, the Diadem of the Golden Boat with a popular theatre café when walking in the town. In 1909 the town of Karlovy Vary bought all the houses and planned to build a modern spa house in their place. However, the grand plans came to nothing and finally a park was built in this place.
